Building Immunity

IMMUNITY

If you’re looking for ways to boost your immunity to help prevent colds, the flu, and other infections, your first step should be a visit to your local fruit shop (that’s us!).

Regularly eating a diet full of fresh produce is one of the easiest ways you can look after your health and wellbeing - as well as adequate sleep, plenty of water and regular exercise. You want to be adding a rainbow of fruit and vegetables to your diet and adding these into each of your meals.

Add lots of vitamin C to your diet as it helps to build up your immune system. Almost all citrus fruits are high in vitamin C. A few citrus fruits to be adding to your weekly shop are lemons, limes, grapefruit and oranges.

Red capsicum or red bell peppers also have a high content of vitamin C and broccoli is supercharged with vitamins and minerals. Broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetables you can put on your plate!

Adding vitamin C in some form when you eat iron-rich vegetables such as silverbeet, spinach, kale will aid absorption.

Ginger, turmeric and garlic also have great immune-boosting properties (plus they taste delicious!). Garlic is so easy to incorporate into many dishes, especially if you are a garlic lover.

Make sure you pop in and grab your immune boosting fruit and vegetables from us.. There are plenty more to choose from, just ask us!
